Final Countdown

Summer is flying by! Classes have been good but I have been counting down the days till I am done! I'll be done with finals next Wednesday! Wahoo! I'm also pretty excited because once classes are done that means . . . EUROPE!!! Less than two weeks to go and I am excited. Still working on getting everything ready, but so excited!! Other than that life has been a mixture of adventures with roommates, homework, and work. All of which have been pretty good.

On a side note I got released from my calling which was bittersweet. I loved serving and really loved the girls, but it will be nice to not be quite so busy. Work has been crazy since our busy season goes till June 30, but vacation will come soon enough.

Too Long

It is crazy how life flies by and I realize I haven't blogged in a while. Since last time I finished up my internship. Busy season lived up to its name, but it was a good ride and learning experience. I was asked to stay on part-time with the firm I worked for which is great! I enjoy working there and it seems to be a good fit. I did go back to classes though which means a new balancing act between working from home, school, Relief Society and all of the social activity that happens in Provo for the summer. I am taking a financial planning class that is really good and proving to be very useful. I am also taking a zumba class which is fantastic! It is such a workout, but is a blast!  I also switched apartments for the summer and am living with two good friends from the ward and my cousin.  Everyone is more social in the spring/summer which is great, but makes studying even more difficult.

Other than that not much else is new. I did pass the second half of the CMA (certified management accountant) exam which was a relief. So I can now put 3 letters after my name. Relief Society is still wonderful! It was sad to see all the girls leave at the end of the semester and I had to put in a new presidency which was sad, but such is the nature of singles wards. I have no doubt the new sisters are just as wonderful.

The open house and dedication were announced for the Brigham Temple which is so exciting!
Less than 2 months to Europe! Aaahhh! So excited!
Life is good!

Spring break . . . sort of

This last week I have been in San Diego, for work. It has still been wonderful - namely because of the constant 65-degree weather (while it has been snowing at times in Utah). Ultimately all of my time has been working, eating and working some more (although there has been some good food!). Plus it has been my first time in California - hopefully I will make it to the beach when I come back next week. The place I am working is on an upper floor in the building and has a balcony so the view is fantastic! Sometimes it makes it difficult to work:)

The other thing that I have realized is that there are good people all over the world. Having been born and raised in Utah and spent lots of time in Provo with people who have similar beliefs, sometimes I forget what great things other people have to offer. I have met some wonderful people who have reminded me of the good there is in the world.

Member of the Working Class

So I have now officially become a member of the working class. I just finished my third week working for Larson & Rosenberger in Sandy. There has definitely been a learning curve, but I am getting to a point where I don't have to ask a question every two seconds. Overall I am enjoying it a lot! The commute . . . well, I'm still working on it.

The other thing I realized is how little else goes on in my life when I am working 40 hours a week plus commuting. I have managed to keep up with BYU basketball and the ride that it has been lately. Being fully invested sometimes gets emotionally draining, but I'll always rise and shout!

Nothing much else goes on in life, but it is February now - we'll see what that brings.

Is this real life?

So I start my internship this Monday and it is a little weird to be doing

what I am actually going to school for and will hopefully doing the rest

of my life. It has been a little weird to not be going to school while my

roommates are gone to class all day.

In other news I took the second half of the CMA exam today and hopefully

passed. Then I just have to graduate and get some work experience and I

will be a full-fledged Certified Management Accountant.

Christmas and New Years came and went. My family got to Skype with

my brother (on his mission in Zimbabwe) which was great! Then shortly

after New Years my best friend Sheena married her best friend Bryan.

It was a beautiful day for them.

With New Years came the typical New Years resolutions. This year I have

managed to stick to a couple of them. The one that I am most excited about

and that will periodically be updated on here is to get into better shape. The

plan: keep better track of what I am eating and exercise every day. The good

news: I have kept track and eaten healthier this week and managed to exercise

everyday! Wahoo! It's the best start yet so I hope to keep it up.

Welcome to real life 2012!

New Blog

Hey everyone (all five of you that read my blog) -

I started another blog! It is more of a special topic blog -

I was talking with a friend and they said they had started

a blog of things that they found inspiring from the scriptures

or wherever it came from. I thought this might be a good idea

and a good way to keep track of those things I find. So ultimately

it is a sort of journal for me, but hopefully you might meander

there sometime and find something inspirational for you too!

Break Point

At this point I am wishing I was done with the semester and perhaps school. I was so looking forward to having Thanksgiving break this year, but I forget how school is right there waiting when you get back. This has been one of the most difficult semesters of my college career. I love some of my classes and absolutely hate others, but all of them are time consuming. Luckily for me I get to take a break next semester and then hopefully do a study abroad to here! I applied for this and will hopefully get to go this summer. In preparation for this I did some online shopping on black Friday and bought one of these! I am always slightly apprehensive in spending money, but I am pretty confident that the experience will be worth it.

I also had to share the recipe for this delicious thing that I made for Thanksgiving. I have recently become addicted to Pinterest, but it did supply me with this great recipe.

Peanut Butter Nutella Banana Pie

*Note: the recipe calls for a melted chocolate underneath the bananas, but I like Nutella and so feel free to use your favorite!

You should definitely try this out.
Also it is past Thanksgiving so I am thoroughly enjoying the Christmas tree in my apartment and Nat King Cole on my iPod!
