Wrapping Up

As I was looking at my calendar I saw that I only have

five real days of class left this semester! The last couple

of weeks of my classes have been cases which is

different, but nice - aka less homework. Then that wraps

up the glory that has been the Junior Core. It also means

that I should start on my master's application. The last

thing I will have to apply for and try to get into in my

educational career. Thrilling! After all of that is done I

just have to get through finals and then it is off to Park

City for a mini-vacation! I am anxiously awaiting that

since I will be staying spring and summer to take classes

this year.

In other news I have been loving March Madness - even

after the cougars made a great run to the sweet 16. Jimmer

has gotten basically every player of the year award which

is awesome.

General Conference was great this weekend! I enjoy hearing

what the prophets have for us and finding something to work

on. I love the personal revelations we can get just for us.

It always leaves me ready to go make changes. Now it is just

a matter of making the changes.

Bucket List

So KSL does this thing called the Coaches Show with

Dave Rose on Monday nights. I went last week unprepared,

but this week I brought my camera to get pictures with

two people on my bucket list - Dave Rose and Greg Wrubell.

Done.

Perfect Ending

After a rough week for Cougar Basketball, it could

not have come together more perfectly for

senior night and a conference win.

It was the last time we got to see these two play at home,

which is sad, but it has been a phenomenal three years and

I wouldn't want to see it end in any way but a championship.

I was also very glad to see that Davies got to cut part of the

net and got some crowd support.

Now that the home season is over I am not sure

what I will do with all my free time. It has been

a whirlwind of a season and I'm so glad I was

here for the ride. Lucky for me March Madness

has just begun and I can still catch my Cougars

in action for a little bit longer.

Trust

These last couple weeks have been interesting. Recruiting has been picking up and it seems there is some event or interview happening every other day of the week. During this brief break I have come to see that sometimes God has different plans than we intend. After having finally decided on what I might want to do with an accounting degree it seems that the Lord may have something different in mind. I am having to learn patience and to be able to let go and trust that the Lord does have something in mind even though I am not sure what it may be and it may not be as immediately apparent as I would like. This talk gives some great perspective.

Add to recruiting school. This semester I have great professors and the material is ok - there are still some classes I struggle with. I got a new group to work with and everyone else is married and working so it has been a new experience to figure out group dynamics. The junior core so far has definitely lived up to its reputation, but has been one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences I have ever had. Plus the tax lab on campus is starting up so I will be in there a couple of days a week.

And from school to work. It is good. Office has a different dynamic with changes in people, but we now have online transcripts which is a beautiful thing!

In addition my roommates want me to run a 5k in March with them. I have

been trying to find time in my schedule to train, but it is small and far

between when I can so it will be interesting.

Finally, most importantly (at least I think so) the Cougars are 22-2 on the year and it is going to be a rocking end to the season! Jimmer delivers a show every time he is on the court and the team as a whole manages to find ways to win games. If you haven't seen one I would highly recommend finding a way to watch one if only for the entertainment value.

Life just keeps rolling on.

Amazing

I have found some things amazing recently.

Condoleeza Rice - She came and spoke at a forum this

week at BYU and gave one of the most amazing speeches

I have ever heard. Her views that just make sense and

her belief that it is our responsibility to shape the future

of our country. She is truly an amazing woman.

I took some pictures over the Christmas break and

although it has been absolutely freezing and I am in support

for above freezing temperatures, the cold and snow does

provide some nice scenery. Including some pictures of my dogs.

And last, but certainly not in any way least, this has been amazing . . .17 -1

and going strong. It has been a great ride so far and I am SO EXCITED

for the rest of the season!!

2011

In the spirit of the new year and after having read everyone else's blogs about the past year I decided to take a look back at what happened during 2010.

- Met great people in my ward winter semester.

- Went to DC and Virginia with my family.

- Got into the accounting program (probably the most impactful thing).

- Replaced the transmission on my car.

- Worked away the summer.

- Ran my first 5k.

- Moved in with new roommates.

- Made it through fall semester.

- Welcomed friends coming back to Provo and said goodbye to those leaving.

- Brother left on mission to Zimbabwe.

- Enjoyed time with family.

I am looking forward to a new year. Although I typically find new year's

resolutions trite, I do take the new year as an opportunity for a starting

point and a springboard to get remotivated. This year will be one with

a lot of decisions to be made and a lot of opportunity to see who I am,

who I want to be and how I can get there. I am excited for new

opportunities and chances to live life.
