Profits

So in my strategic management class we are doing a simulation where we
develop a strategy and implement it in a business for 8 years. Because of
our strategy we have had a lot of investing to do the first couple of years,
but today we had our first year with PROFITS!! I know it's nerdy, but
so wonderful!

Summertime

This summer has flown by. Not much has changed
since I am still doing classes. I did take the CMA exam
which is a certification exam for managerial accountants.
I did finish my spring classes, but there is only a weekend
between that and summer classes.

I am LOVING my summer classes though. I am taking a
strategic management class which seems like it will actually
be useful. I am also taking a clothing construction class that
is awesome! I get to learn how to sew different pieces of
clothing and some basics to sew other things. I also get
to sit by a friend from my ward which is great! My new
hobby/class is tennis! I love it!

Earlier this month my grandpa passed away which is the first
death/funeral I have had to go through so it was a hard, but
peaceful experience.

I had another roommate change, but this time it is just a new
person in the apartment - I get my own room again!
Gotta love summer!

Catch Up

I am still not great at the whole blogging thing so it ends up being a mish-mosh
of thing for the last couple of months. Any way here is what I have been up to.

1. I made it through the Junior Core! I am officially done with my junior year
and it feels a little weird to be almost done with college.

2. I am staying in Provo for the Spring and Summer to take classes and work.
Classes are good, they are keeping me busy. In addition I am taking a
certification exam for management accounting which I should be
studying more for. I am hoping to still find some time for some summer
adventures. I did take a mini-vacation to Park City with the family
between semesters.

3. I have done some good reading. The first book I finished was The Help by
Kathryn Stockett. It was a great read that portrays racial tensions in the
50's and 60's. Definitely recommend it. Second book I just finished was called
The Silence of God. It is about the church in Russia around the time of the
revolution. It was super interesting.

4. I am a relief society teacher for my ward this summer. I am excited for an
actual calling versus being on the literacy committee in a student ward at BYU.

5. I got into the MAcc (Masters of Accountancy) Program here at BYU.
I also ended up getting a couple of extra scholarships to cover my tuition
for fall which will be great! I officially only have 2 years of school left!
Graduation, although far away, is in sight!

Hopefully there will be more exciting adventures for next time. Maybe if
the weather decided to warm up!

Wrapping Up

As I was looking at my calendar I saw that I only have
five real days of class left this semester! The last couple
of weeks of my classes have been cases which is
different, but nice - aka less homework. Then that wraps
up the glory that has been the Junior Core. It also means
that I should start on my master's application. The last
thing I will have to apply for and try to get into in my
educational career. Thrilling! After all of that is done I
just have to get through finals and then it is off to Park
City for a mini-vacation! I am anxiously awaiting that
since I will be staying spring and summer to take classes
this year.

In other news I have been loving March Madness - even
after the cougars made a great run to the sweet 16. Jimmer
has gotten basically every player of the year award which
is awesome.

General Conference was great this weekend! I enjoy hearing
what the prophets have for us and finding something to work
on. I love the personal revelations we can get just for us.
It always leaves me ready to go make changes. Now it is just
a matter of making the changes.

Bucket List

So KSL does this thing called the Coaches Show with
Dave Rose on Monday nights. I went last week unprepared,
but this week I brought my camera to get pictures with
two people on my bucket list - Dave Rose and Greg Wrubell.

Done.
